Beyond The Walls

BTW

BEYOND THE WALLS is the one place where people, passion and pennies come together to reach out

“to the least of these” Matthew 25:40

and provide the love and practical assistance they need. We identify key mission opportunities and needs on a local, national and global level. We then work to energize the congregation through mission education and hands on personal experience, to provide support to those in need. We strive to put love into action in our daily lives and into our personal service ministry.

Africa Initiatives of HUMC

ZOE MINISTRY encompasses the mission statement of HUMC to "make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world!" Zoe Ministry was established in 2007 with the goal of providing a comprehensive approach to transform the lives of African children orphaned by HIV/AIDS, war, disease, famine and other causes. Every 14 seconds a child in Africa is orphaned with an estimate of over 2.4 million orphans in the country of Kenya alone. Children as young as 13 years old find themselves the head of household. Zoe Ministry staff and volunteers along with community leaders identify the most vulnerable orphans. These orphans and child-led families are then provided the resources and training to improve their lives, their families, and their communities. Go to following website www.zoeministry.org where you will find wonderful success stories and videos of how Zoe Ministry is helping.

Imagine No Malaria: Where you live should not determine if you live. Every 60 seconds, malaria claims a life in Africa. Millions of lives needlessly lost each year. Hastings United Methodist is raising money for the next three years in this effort. Go to the following website for more information www.UMC.org/ImagineNoMalaria
